ADDENDUM TO TENDER NOTICE

PROPOSED UPGRADING OF REDEEMED GOSPEL -ST PHILIPS -KIEMBENI ROAD, KIEMBENI -IGLOOS- SLAUGHTER ROAD TO BITUMINOUS STANDARD AND OPPOSITE NAIVAS CABRO WORKS. NEGOTIATION NUMBER: 742114-2019-2020. TENDER NO: CGOKTI/KM/215/2018-2019

This addendum is a follow up to the publication of the above tender notice that was uploaded in the county government of kitui website (www.kitui.go.ke) and the IFMIS PORTAL: www.treasury.go.ke respectively on 13th June 2019 inviting applications from eligible contractors to submit bid documents for the said tenders.

We would like to notify all eligible bidders and those who have downloaded the tender documents of the following changes:

  1. That the tender has now been uploaded in the PPIP Portal: www.tenders.go.ke as required. Note that although the tender appeared in the county Government of Kitui website, this had been erroneously been omitted in the previous uploads PPIP Portal www.tenders.go.ke.
  2. That the deadline for submission of tenders has been extended by eight (8) more days to Friday, 5th July, 2019 at 12:00 noon
  3. That an additional day for site visit has been slotted for Wednesday, 26th, June 2019 at 10:30 am to enable eligible bidders who might not have been notified by the failure of the advert to appear in the PPIP Portal. Bidders who attended the previous site visit may also attend if they chose to do so, otherwise the previous attendance to site is still valid.
  4. That the IFMIS NEGOTIATION NO has changed from 742114-2019-2020 to 742114,1-2019-2020

All other conditions and mandatory requirements of tendering are as contained in the tender documents to be downloaded from the websites stated above.

1.0       INTRODUCTION:

The County Government of Kitui intends to procure a Comprehensive Medical Insurance Cover for its Top Senior county staff in fulfillment of its obligations under the Employment Act that requires every employer to make provision for sufficient medical attention to employees.

2.0       THE OBJECTIVE

The purpose of the Tender is to select a Registered Insurance Company (Medical Underwriters) to provide a Medical Insurance Cover for this category of Public Servants.

  • SCOPE

The cover is for Top Senior Civil Servants who are Heads of Ministries and Government Departments in the Civil Service. The Insurance sought is intended to cover Top Senior county staff and shall be on family shared basis covering the Principal member, spouse and a maximum of five (5) dependant children under 18 years of age and up to 26 years of age if still in school.

The successful Insurance Company who must be Medical Underwriters shall enter into a one year (1) year contract, renewable upon satisfactory performance and takes effect from 9th June, 2019.

  • THE MEDICAL COVER

The Cover has been designed to provide in-patient, out-patient, Maternity, Dental and Optical benefits on family shared basis, for the Principal Members.

Interested Insurance firms registered as Medical Under-writers are required to present written evidence of the following:- 

(I).      To provide evidence of major Medical Clients including the value of the policies

           Underwritten in the last three (3) years.    

(ii).      To provide Annual Reports and Accounts for the past three (3) years (2016/2017/2018).

(iii).      A list of reputable Health Care Outlets suitable to this category of Senior Public Servants and State Officers that are currently available to the Medical Underwriter, including their addresses and their geographical location.
